Toronto Rehab Capital Campaign: The Spirit of Giving

This Christmas we are pleased to write about one of our most engaging assignments: designing and producing the print and video/DVD collaterals for the compelling story of the Toronto Rehab Capital Campaign. It is about the resilience of the human spirit and of what we can do to rebuild lives. It's a story about "Everything Humanly Possible."

Design Vision's involvement began nine months ago with a call from Barb Stymiest, CEO, Toronto Stock Exchange and the Chair of the Capital Campaign: "George, the Toronto Rehab Foundation has a fundraising goal of 115 million dollars, and I want Design Vision to help us out."

We quickly got to work and set up a detailed round of research that included consultations with volunteer groups drawn from targeted donor segments. We learned that while the competition was indeed formidable there was an openness and willingness to listen to the Toronto Rehab story - particularly as it represents a distinct branch of medical focus. We also tested approaches to telling the story which provided clear feedback on what worked, and what did not... allowing us to build a clear framework for design.

During four months of intensive research, shooting, and editing we came into close contact with the patients, caregivers, researchers, academics, and senior management and board members of this unique institution. The spirit and the level of commitment that we witnessed and came to appreciate seem to permeate the institution and speak to the day-to-day realities of what the spirit of giving is really all about.

"Working with the Design Vision team we have developed a point of view and perspective that works for us and for those to whom we are presenting," notes Sheila Hicks, President of the Toronto Rehab Foundation. "They have delivered a truly outstanding set of collaterals that capture the Toronto Rehab Capital Campaign message. Design Vision gave this assignment a sense of priority and perhaps, even more importantly, by simply giving of themselves to make this, they confirmed that when we work together, almost Everything is Humanly Possible."

We encourage you to join Design Vision in donating a portion of your charitable dollars to Toronto Rehab Foundation. To learn more or to make a donation online you can visit Toronto Rehab's website at www.torontorehab.com.
